Learn, ride and experience the Pacific with local surf instructors on the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica.
The Adventure Starts Before the First Wave.
Your surf experience begins in the heart of Montezuma. From there, we walk along the beach and coastal trails toward beautiful Playa Grande, near the Reserva Bromelia.
Once we arrive, your instructor prepares you for the ocean before the real fun begins.
Walk to Playa Grande
We leave from downtown Montezuma and walk approximately 25 minutes along the beach and coastal trails toward Playa Grande.
Take in Playa Grande
Once we reach the beach, we take a short 10-minute break before beginning the lesson.
Learn Before You Paddle
Your instructor explains the basic surfing routine on land, including positioning, paddling, standing up, ocean awareness and what to do — and what not to do — once you enter the water.
Time to Catch Your First Waves
Now it's time to put everything into practice. Head into the Pacific with your instructor for your first 40-minute surf session.
Recharge on the Beach
Relax for 30 minutes and recharge with fresh coconut, pineapple and water before heading back into the ocean.
Back to the Waves
Return to the water for another 30-minute session, putting into practice what you learned and building confidence with every wave.
Walk Back to Montezuma
After the second surf session, we walk back along the coastal trail and beach to downtown Montezuma.

Meet your instructor in Montezuma and get ready for approximately three hours of walking, learning and surfing at beautiful Playa Grande.

Two Surf Sessions Approximately 70 minutes of total practice in the Pacific.

What to Bring
The Costa Rican sun can be intense. We strongly recommend bringing a rash guard and sunscreen for additional protection during your surf sessions.
The experience includes approximately 25 minutes of walking each way between Montezuma and Playa Grande.
