Your Journey From Paradise to a Glowing Ocean
Begin your afternoon at Tortuga Island, enjoy a peaceful Pacific sunset and finish your day surrounded by the extraordinary natural glow of bioluminescent waters.
During the boat journey, there is also a possibility of encountering dolphins, whales or sea turtles. Wildlife sightings depend entirely on season and natural conditions.
Transportation Pick-up Begins
If transportation is required, we begin collecting guests from Santa Teresa and Malpaís around midday for the journey to Montezuma.

Leave Montezuma Beach for an enjoyable approximately 45-minute coastal boat journey toward Tortuga Island.
Welcome to Tortuga Island
Arrive at one of Costa Rica's most beautiful Pacific islands. Afternoon visits are especially enjoyable because the beach can feel calmer and less crowded.
Snorkeling Experience
Enjoy approximately 45 minutes of snorkeling. This journey is not centered exclusively around snorkeling, but on a sunny afternoon it is a wonderful addition to the Tortuga Island experience.
Enjoy Tortuga Island
Relax on the beach, swim in the tropical waters or simply enjoy the scenery and peaceful afternoon atmosphere of the island.
Sandwich & Fresh Fruit
Enjoy a fresh sandwich with fruit during your afternoon on Tortuga Island.
Departure from Tortuga Island
We leave Tortuga Island and continue approximately 20 minutes toward the protected waters of Bahía Tambor.

Our next stop is near Playa Muertos inside Bahía Tambor, where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the mountains of Tambor.

Enjoy a casual tropical snack while waiting for daylight to disappear and the night experience to begin.
Bioluminescence Experience
Once darkness arrives, we return to the boat and begin searching for bioluminescence. You may enter the water wearing a life jacket and experience the glow around you, or simply enjoy this incredible natural phenomenon from the boat.
End of the Ocean Adventure
The marine portion of the experience concludes at Playa Pochote. From here, our minibus will take you comfortably back to your destination.

Bioluminescence + Tortuga Island
From the turquoise waters of Tortuga Island to a Pacific sunset and the extraordinary natural glow of bioluminescence — one unforgettable day-to-night experience.
For better viewing conditions, this experience opens on the second night after the Full Moon and remains available through the fifth night after the New Moon.
Booking & Equipment Policies
Cancellation requests must be received at least 48 hours before the scheduled service to qualify for a refund. No-shows are non-refundable.
Snorkeling equipment is included. Loss or damage to a complete snorkeling set is subject to a US$60 replacement charge.
Timing or itinerary may be modified when necessary because of weather, ocean, operational or safety conditions.
Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon. Visibility and intensity may vary according to environmental conditions.
